Wetlands, waterways, protected species, nesting birds, and sensitive habitats can affect design, permitting, and construction. DEA evaluates ecological conditions early, supports jurisdictional and permitting processes, and works with project teams to develop practical avoidance, minimization, and mitigation strategies.

Services include wetland delineations and jurisdictional determinations, wetland permitting support, mitigation planning, biological assessments, threatened and endangered species habitat assessments and presence/absence surveys, targeted species-specific surveys, and avian and nesting studies. Fieldwork can be supplemented with geospatial tools and drone-assisted aerial photography where appropriate.
